DAY 1.
TBILISI
Arrival in Tbilisi, meeting at the airport, transfer to the hotel.
DAY 2.
TBILISI - DAVID GAREJI - SIGNAGHI
Transfer to the eastern part of Georgia, Kakheti region. Visit to the David Gareji monastery complex, which is located in the south-eastern part of Georgia, in the semi-desert, near the border with Azerbaijan. During the tour you will visit the Lavra of David. If desired, you can explore the cells with frescoes, which are located on the mountain. Beautiful landscape and small salt lakes along the road. Transfer to the city of Sighnaghi, one of the most beautiful and ancient cities of Georgia. The city offers a lovely view of the Caucasus Mountains and the Alazani Valley. Visit to Bodbe Monastery. DAY 3.
SIGNAGHI - LAGODEKHI - TELAVI
Transfer to the Lagodekhi reserve, horseback riding. Transfer to the city of Telavi, the regional center of Kakheti. On the way we visit the Nekresi - an inactive monastery located behind the Alazani River at the top of the mountain. The history of Nekresi begins in the second half of the VI century, when Aviv (one of the famous 13 Syrian Holy Fathers) founded a monastery on this site. Coffee break near the picturesque lake Lopota. Visit to the architectural ensemble Gremi (temple and fortress). Dinner with wine tasting and national dishes. Overnight at a cozy hotel near Telavi. DAY 4.
Telavi - Gudauri
Sightseeing tour of Telavi. Visit to the house-museum of the penultimate king of Georgia, Irakli II-king of Kartli-Kakheti kingdom of the 18th century. From the Kakheti branch of Bagration. Depending on weather conditions, the transfer will be either towards Tianeti in the north (Off-road) or through the Gombori pass. We continue moving along the Georgian military road, stop near the medieval fortress Ananuri, on the banks of the picturesque Zhinvali lake. Ananuri - belonged to one of the strongest feudal clans of late medieval Georgia - Aragvi eristavs. The fortress served as an outpost of defense, blocking the road leading from the Darial gorge to the Caucasus mountains. DAY 5.
GUDAURI
Transfer to the village of Kazbegi, ascent to the church of Gergeti Trinity, located at an altitude of 2170m at the foot of Mount Kazbegi. Built in the 14th century, the shrine is the only cross-domed temple in the Heavy region. Near the temple, a medieval bell tower has been preserved. The road from Gudauri to Kazbegi may be closed due to weather conditions, in which case free time can be spent skiing or snowboarding in Gudauri. Transfer to Tbilisi, hotel accommodation. DAY 6.
TBILISI - MTSKHETA - TBILISI
Tbilisi city tour with its main attractions: Old Tbilisi, Maidan and Sulfur baths, the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Narikala Fortress, Metekhi Plateau, Synagogue, Mosque, Glass Bridge of the World, city fortress wall, Rustaveli Avenue, Freedom Square, Shardeni street, modern part of the city. Moving to the ancient capital of Georgia - Mtskheta. The city was founded in the 1st millennium BC and was the capital of Georgia for eight centuries. Mtskheta is a World Heritage Site and is under the protection of UNESCO. A visit to the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, which houses the greatest shrine of the Georgian Church - the Lord's Chiton. Visit to the monastery of Jvari. Return to Tbilisi. Dinner in a cozy Georgian restaurant with a tasting of delicious local cuisine and wines, in an atmosphere of Georgian music and dance. TBILISI
