SACRED TIBET: AN EXCLUSIVE EXPEDITION TO TIBET TO THE SACRED MOUNTAIN KAILAS

PROGRAM OF THE JOURNEY:

Day 1 – Lhasa

Arrival at Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Meeting the participants, transfer to the hotel. The height of Lhasa is 3,650 meters above sea level. So the next few days we will spend walking in the city and seeing the sights around.  We need to gain strength for walking the Kora round the sacred Mount Kailash.

Day 2 – the Potala Palace, Jokhang

Visit to the Jokhang Temple (House of the Lord), which is the most sacred place in Tibet. Then we will go on an excursion to one of the main wonders of the world - Pothala. Pothala Palace is the tallest ancient castle in the world, located at an altitude of 3,767 meters. This huge Buddhist temple complex was the residence of the Dalai Lama.

Day 3 - Shikadze

Today we will leave Lhasa and go to Shikadze. On the way we visit Yamdrok-tso Lake - one of the three sacred and most revered lakes of Tibet. It is located at an altitude of 4488 meters between Gyangtse and Lhasa. The length of the lake is 73 kilometers, an area of 621 square km, the coastline is 250 km. The lake has 9 islands.

Day 4 - Shigatse - Tingri village (4500m) - B/C Everest

Today is a day which you can easily add to the collection of the best days in life! With winding mountain streamers, we are heading to the base camp of Mount Jomolungma, better known to us as Everest. This is the mother of all the mountains, the highest on our planet, thousands of climbers annually try to conquer it.

We can see this mountain in its incredible beauty and power. Although we will feel ourselves as a little conquerors of the mountains, while walking along the base camp. And along the road we will stop near the beautiful Lake Peiko Tso, which is located at the foot of Shishapangma Mountain.

Day 5 - Tingri village - Saga - Paryang - Manasarovar island (4590m)

Today is a day entirely devoted to enjoying the majestic nature of the Tibetan plateau. We drive along the Brahmaputra River and you will not be able to take your eyes off the beauty that opens infront. We will make a stop to feel the lack of civilization - there are no signs of the 21st century around us for hundreds of kilometers. The Himalayas are infront and the heart is beating...

We go further to the magnificent lake Manasarovar. Here the landscapes are no worse, and we are nearly to forget about the existence of something else besides these beautiful open spaces ...

We will be warmly welcomed in a guest house located right on the shores of Manasarovar lake, and after seeing enough of the indescribable beauty, we go to sleep in our guest house.

Day 6 - Manasarovar - village Darchen

Near the guest house in the cliff there is a “little bird” - Chiu Gompa Monastery, where we will go after breakfast. The great Guru Rinpoche spent his last days in the meditation cave located here. We will tell you the story of his outstanding life.

Today we get to the foot of Kailash Mount - the village of Darchen. Perhaps there are no attractions, but there is an atmosphere of real Tibet. We set up, recheck the equipment and have a rest thoroughly - tomorrow is a very important day. Accommodation at night: guest house

Day 07 - the first day of Kora

The first day of the sacred Kora around Kailash. In Tibetan, Kailash is known as Kang Rinpoche (the highest jewel). On the way today we will see the monasteries of Chuku and Dira Phuk, memorable by the activities of Nairopa and Milarepa. We will spend a night in a guesthouse nearby.

Day 08 - the second day of Kora

Today is the most exciting and important day of our trip. Crossing the Drome La Pass, also referred as the Karma Ax. Having overcome it, a person gains purification, leaves behind the negative karma, meets symbolic death and birth.

The second day of the pilgrimage is the most difficult physically - we need to go 18 km, which takes about 7-9 hours. We also have to overcome the rocky pass Dorma-la (5500 m). One must be very careful not to stumble, as the road will be strewn with huge stones.

Day 09 - Inner Kora around Kailash. Day 3

These are the most significant days of our expedition, we make the Inner Kora, or Nandi Kora, at altitudes of 5100 - 5850 m. We will approach the southern gates of the mysterious world inside Kailash and see 13 stupas of the Mahatma that stands inside the mountain at an altitude of 5700 m.

Day 10 - Darchen - Ali - Lhasa

Transfer Darchen - Ali. Flight Ali - Lhasa. In Lhasa we will continue our acquaintance with the sacred places. We will visit the famous monasteries of Drepung and Sera. In the evening a farewell dinner awaits us at one of the most distinctive restaurants in Tibet.

Day 11 - return flight

Early rise, transfer to Gongar airport 50 min. Departure to your city...

Early booking: € 2,300 until July 23, € 2,500 until August 10.

Full payment is made 45 days before the start of the trip.

The price includes:

• Meeting at the airport upon arrival and transfer to the hotel;
• Transfer in Tibet (minibus, jeep);
• Registration of permits / permits along the route;
• Hotels in Lhasa, Ali, Darchen, overnight in guesthouses on the lakes Manasarovar and Kora for 3 nights (double occupancy);

• Flight Lhasa - Ali - Lhasa (about 380 euros);
• Visa to China (about $ 100);
• Personal and unforeseen expenses;
• Porter, yak or horse for the duration of trekking and kora;
• Insurance;
• Inner Kora, which is paid extra - 500 euros. It is discussed individually with expedition members.
