DAY 1.
TBILISI
Meeting at the airport, transfer, hotel check-in. Short walk in a city center, dinner.
DAY 2.
TBILISI—MTSKHETA—TBILISI
Sightseeing tour of the city including the following highlights: Old Tbilisi, Meidan and sulphur bathhouses, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Narikala Fortress, Metekhi Plateau, the Synagogue, the Mosque, the glass Bridge of Peace, the fortress wall, Rustaveli Avenue, Freedom Square, the pedestrian Shardeni Street and the modern part of the city. Then we will have lunch in old capital of Georgia – Mtskheta. A sightseeing tour around Mtskheta. The city was founded in the first millennium B.C. and had been the capital for eight centuries until the 5th century A.D. Mtskheta is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is placed under UNESCO Enhanced Protection. Visiting Svetitskhoveli Cathedral where the greatest relic of the Georgian Church is contained – the Chiton of the Lord. Visiting Jvari Monastery. Dinner at a cozy Georgian restaurant, tasting delicious dishes of local cuisine and wines in the atmosphere of Georgian music and dancing.
DAY 3.
SIGHNAGHI / UPLISTSIKHE / KAZBEGI
One-day sightseeing tour as selected: The town of Signagi (the Town of Love), the city of Gori and the rock-hewn town of Uplistsikhe (emerged at the end of II century – beginning of the I century B.C. The visitors are welcome to see over 150 caves that have remained intact), or a tour along the Georgian Military Road to the gem of the Caucasus Mountain Range – Mount Kazbek.
DAY 4.
TBILISI – BODBE – SIGNAGI – TSINANDALI – TELAVI
Drive to Signagi, a visit to Bodbe Convent where there is St. Nino’s grave. Wine dégustation at a home wine cellar, where you will be offered 4 kinds of wine, Georgian lavash and cheese. Visiting Tsinandali and the museum of Prince Alexander Chavchavadze. The house museum includes wine cellars built in 1886. Drive to Telavi.
DAY 5.
TELAVI – TBILISI
Visiting the Academy of Ikalto, where one of the first world’s educational academies was established as early as the 9th century. Along with philosophy, astronomy, mathematics, Greek and Latin languages, students were taught wine-making as a special subject. Visiting Alaverdi Cathedral. Transfer to Tbilisi via the Gombori Mountain Range, dinner at a restaurant.
DAY 6.
TBILISI
Transfer to the airport. Flight home.
